Camp Setebaid® at Swatara:
July 15-21, 2012
Camp Setebaid, located in Bethel Pennsylvania, offers beautiful forestland threaded with hiking trails and wildlife, boating on the lake, a crystal clear swimming pool, and open playing fields. The site is located in South Central Pennsylvania East of Harrisburg and West of Philadelphia. The site was specifically selected to better serve our Southeastern Pennsylvania families. It is approximately 1 ½ hours West of Philadelphia and less than 1 hour East of Harrisburg.
Camp Setebaid, serving only children with Type 1 diabetes, received its name in the early 1980s by
the campers. When asked to rename it from Diabetes Camp at Camp Louise, the campers decided
on "diabetes backwards." The name has been Camp Setebaid ever since. Camp includes a myriad
of activities including archery, arts and crafts, boating, canoeing, a ropes course with a zip line, sports,
and swimming. It is a co-educational program, serving approximately 150-160 children with diabetes ages 8-18.
