Children's Diabetes Conference:
History
First offered in 1999, The Children's Diabetes Conference, was originally called the Diabetes Family Weekend. It was offered as a community service by the Northeast Association of Diabetes Educators of Pennsylvania (NEADE). NEADE has been a chapter of the American Diabetes Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) for over 10 years. The AADE is the professional association that certifies diabetes educators (CDE's) and establishes standards for diabetes education across the United States.
In 2001, NEADE partnered with Setebaid Services,® Inc. to continue the services of The Diabetes Family Retreat Weekend perpetually. Setebaid Services,® Inc. remains committed to continue the weekend and we have recently expanded enrollment beyond Northeastern Pennsylvania.
We have partnered with both Geisinger Medical Center and the Montour County Visitors Bureau to now offer the Children's Diabetes Conference in Danville, Pennsylvania. This conference will be held at the Henry Hood Center for Health Reasearch in Danville, located in central Pennsylvania. There will be multiple hotel options for families to select the best rates and options for their needs. In addition, we will travel by bus on Saturday evening to have fun at America's largest free-admission park, Knoebels Amusement Resort. |
