Camp Setebaid® Teen Camp:
Counselor-In-Training Program
Camp Setebaid offers a CIT Program for teens who wish to become camp counselors. The program develops counseling techniques, establishes outdoor living and survivor skills, and furthers diabetes management knowledge. It builds responsibility and maturing with teens and teaches them camp specifics about counseling diabetic children at our programs. Applicants must have Type 1 diabetes and be between the ages of 16-17. All applicants must be available for the entire CIT Program (two full weeks); sorry late arrivals or early departures from this program are not acceptable. If you are interested in applying for this highly competitive program please call us at (570) 524-9090 or email a request for a CIT application to info@setebaidservices.org. Applications are sent in January, and are due in early February.
Applications will be reviewed and you may be called for a personal interview. Selections will be made based upon maturity, experiences, ability to grow into a counselor position, and the CIT staff’s opinion of the candidate’s ability to serve as a CIT. Selections will be made in the spring.
